Kitschy Corners # 2

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Hi Everyone...
Welcome to another little "kitschy corner" of my kitchen...I wanted to show you my baking center where I whip up wholesome meals for my family...
It will do your heart good to know that I use recipes that I have taken from my
vintage cookbooks of course.
I hope you will adore my little corner of
pink central...
This is the most concentrated use of vintage pink in my kitchen and I hope it makes you feel happy when you look here...

I just love to arrange fun, kitschy stuff together and it was especially exciting putting together this darling vintage shelf, with so many little cubbies to display stuff on..

Over the years I have collected tons of "ephemera", especially kitchen and appliance advertisements,
take a look at these great ones that I have combined with my Ohio Art recipe keeper, pink plastic laundry sprinkler, and my silly teabag holder...

I think this little cubbie is my favorite though...don't you just love my Memo Chef? He's so funny and a little bit mischevious...don't you think?
Oh, and also the vintage Tupperware coasters?
Can you believe I found a pink egg slicer?
I really think God likes to delight my heart with little vintage finds like this...

Aqua and pink diamond tumbler set, so fun on the company table...

Ice tea served in this vintage rubber coated spaghetti string set is sooo atomic!

More fun pink kitchen goodies make this niche so yummy to behold...

The very top shelf of my center is the most fun I think 'cause it holds vintage, mint in box, actual goods from "the era"... I have combined all of these with a great lighted atomic star clock, found on ebay, and my beloved West Bend lighted coffee pot with matching atomic star glass jar...
just too yummy for words!!!

It's so fun to prepare food in this little area...
I just love using my pink plastic cannister set...

and the darling pink utensils that match...

...but what is really cute about this vignette is the darling pink teapot wall pocket that I have lovingly stuffed with a cherished pair of oven mitts...

You've just gotta see this precious print up close on these cuties...
I would love to have a dress made of this adorable print, I would wear it everyday!

Oh my, I think this looks so amazing next to my pink Frigidaire...I found this vintage Dixie Cup dispenser and matching cups, mint in the box at an estate sale, but I had to take her out of her box to use her...
but that's OK too, cause I saved the box!

Whoa, I almost forgot to show you a little peek at my tile trivet collection...
...and vintage oven mitt collection...

Sometimes you gotta use vintage cork boards, but that's good cause they're just as cute...

...it leaves you begging for more, doesn't it?
But sadly, it's time to close the "kitschen" down, so I will leave you with one last dreamy, "kitchen closed for the night" pic!

Thanks so much for stopping by and stay tuned for more episodes of
"Kitschy Corners"
I hope you enjoyed reading as much as I loved showing!
