Were back from Yosemite...and it was lovely...no danger whatsoever! The river was calm and amazing and we spent lots of time in it.
The house we stayed in was so cute and cozy and all of us had a wonderful time.
Yosemite was my mother's favorite place in the world and it still is a little bittersweet to be there without her, but I am so thankful that I get to hang with my family for a week in her favorite place.
Here are some snapshots from my childhood in Yosemite...we camped every year in the valley with tons of family and friends...
Our little family camping in the valley circa 1968
My sister and I pestering our Daddy then...
and pestering him now...
These were such fun times in my life...
Levi and I at the Wawona Hotel...on the lawn by the pool...
The Pioneer History Center just below the Wawona Hotel...
Levi loved this historic covered bridge...
and the stagecoach ride...by the way, Buckshot, the driver was lookin' for a wife...
and he had his eye on my sister...
Wow...wildlife just outside our back door, so cool
and me in my Julius jammies, not sure how cool that is...
The "super not safe"
Swinging Bridge
at the end of Chilnualna Falls Road
See, told ya the river was calm and amazing...
I just couldn't stay out of it...
There is nothing like the view from the Wawona Tunnel just above the valley
at sunset...
Mariposa Grove of giant sequoias...and the tunnel tree...
the one that still stands that is!
On our last night, we went to the Big Grey Barn at Wawona for the Barn Dance...
fun, fun, fun!!!
Swing yur part'ner round and round...
So much fun was had by all...can't wait until next year!
