Vintage Eats

Growing up as a Southern Cali girl, I had the blessed fortune of getting to eat fast food...alot.
Sadly though, everything changes and things loose their charm. Some of these amazing places don't even exist anymore.
So, let your memory soar and your tastebuds reminisce as you view these tasty images...

My personal favorite at Lakewood Shopping Center...I've had many a birthday party here...

Ohhh, I can still taste the beans...
and I want whatever they are offering for only 19 cents

Jack in the Box used to be so quaint, very retro modern...
Where did the cowboy hat go???

Love that A-Frame red roof...

Who remembers these...
from here...

Many of you already remember what these popular places used to look like?
How many of you remember the way the food "used" to taste?

My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

2 of you say...:

I love it! I posted some pix of my hometown's vintage signs and businesses that are still around, including some drive ins. I found your blog on Vintage Housewife, and it's really cute. Can't wait to see more of your cool house! Check me out at Zootsuitmama.

Awesome post girlie!! I miss the Old Taco Bells from the 70's. The architecture AND food. I haven't eaten at a Taco Bell in close to 4 years now. I swear there's an old Taco Bell building somewhere in town that is now a hole in the wall Mexican food shop. Maybe I'll hunt it down and snap a pic. The Old Jack's were great too. SO lively and fun!! I also miss seeing the Colonel's mug plastered all over the restaurants. Abrby's cowboy hats.. some towns still have em'. I saw one when I was driving through Kansas City Kansas not too long ago.

Fast food used to be so much better. (Tasting that is) possibly healthier as well. They've dumbed down the cooking processes so anyone can make it, and hardly anything is made fresh in house any longer. Del taco is one of my fave places to go because they make about everything in house.

Nice post. You brought back some great memories!
